Wild Gardening

I’ve been wildly gardening and gardening wildly recently. Last fall I ordered some native wildflower seeds. As with many wildflowers they require a period of cold, so following the instructions that came with the seeds I put them in pots and set them out for the winter.

Looks like the snow kept them warm and toasty.

Today I decided to plant some. They are still tiny, but I wanted to experiment, so I put some, but not all, in the ground in a prepared area. I had previously killed the weeds by smothering but since there was a lot of goldenrod in the area previously I decided I’d better dig out those roots. It didn’t take long and the soil looked fantastic.

Stay tuned to see what survives!

Thanks for looking,

Stay well, be curious, love diversity,
