Last night was the first full lunar eclipse of 2025 and I dragged myself out of bed at 2:15 AM to check it out. It was worth it.

Despite heavy cloud cover when I went to bed, by the middle of the night the skies had cleared and the stars were shining. It was cold with lingering snow cover and it reminded me of how much I love the dark and the quiet of late night,. Perhaps in another month (or two) I’ll head out to look for night flying insects. You’ll be the first to know what I find.

Thanks for looking,
Stay well, be curious, love diversity,
Kate
