We’re on the cusp of the solstice and as unlikely as it seems when the forecast is for snow and frigid weather, the days are going to lengthen. It’s nearly dark now at 4:30 and the evenings feel long, especially compared to soft spring days when it’s hard to come inside before 8:30 or 9.
Part of me loves winter with the crisp air and the evenings in front of the fire. Another part misses the lazy heat and the butterflies flitting from flower to flower. It’s harder to walk in the woods and I tend to leave my camera behind and listen to books on tape to take my mind of my back which tends to ache with the cold. But occasionally I turn off the books and look around, the way I do in the warmer months. It’s easy to forget how beautiful the forbidding cold can be.

Happy Solstice to All
Thanks for looking,
Stay well, be curious, learn things.
