Like many others I have been feeling a deep anger and sadness for the choice our country made in the last election. The preference for hatred and bigotry fed by lies and disinformation, is said to be a call for change. It looks to me more like a desire to return to “the good ole’ days” when women were barefoot and pregnant and black folk “knew their place.” It’s no coincidence that it was an intelligent, articular, powerful, Black woman who lost the election. I fear the coming regime will do as it has promised and drive us back to the dark ages of ignorance and superstition.
But beyond the fear for the people of our country lies my despair for the earth. I love the land and its inhabitants and it’s declining in front of me. Tyrants come and go. We’re in for a rough time, but this newest thug must not stop us from working to protect our home and all its life. In a future post I will lay out ideas for how we can continue to protect our home, but for now I need some time to mourn.

Thanks for looking,
Stay well, be curious, learn things.
